Introduction
 
This friendly and informal course covers the important role that a council plays within its community and how its councillors are pivotal to its success. The course goes through duties and powers and the council's councillor responsibilities, including as an employer.

We also touch on meeting procedures, the Code of Conduct, Freedom of Information, Data Protection and Filming and reporting at Meetings.

We also cover the role of the chairman, the role of the clerk/RFO (Responsible Finance Officer) and we end with the Code of conduct. 


Who is it for?
This course cannot be missed and will be of great benefit to new and long standing councillors to parish and town councils. There will be ample time to ask questions and also share each other's experiences.

There are no current dates set for this course, however, this course is available as a bespoke course to your council.  We will come to you with a trainer, equipment and training packs at a venue of your choice.  For more details please contact us.
